A Day’s Outing

Who wouldn’t like to have a break? We, Novices, were the privileged ones to be out for a whole day on a ‘Bengaluru Darshan.’ Being divided into groups, we came back with a bundle of experiences. Two of us desire to share some of our sentiments with you.

Ryan: The Bengaluru Darshan was like a baby’s day out for me. What struck me all through the day was the finger of God in all our undertakings. When I walked through the Jesuit establishments, I felt a sense of belonging to the Society of Jesus. Vijay Mallya’s helipad was a spectacular sight. God resides amidst simple people; this is what I experienced when I went towards the Infant Jesus Shrine at Viveknagar. The poor enveloped the areas surrounding this miraculous place. As dusk set in, the Lord reached us safely home.

Alwyn Misquith: The Mount St Joseph Novitiate is blessed to be close to the city which has a deep-rooted cultural heritage. Our expedition included visits to the Vidhana Saudha,High Court, Raj Bhavan, Churches, Temples, Mosques, Parks, Museums and famous places like Shivaji Nagar, Majestic, M G Road, Brigade Road along with our Jesuit Institutions and residences. At dawn - the sun was sharp, our group was energetic, places were awesome, food was tasty and the journey was short with a few long walks. At the end of the day, the climate was cool, there came a slight drizzle, we were totally puzzled, but filled to our hearts content for the Lord had bestowed upon us a grace-filled day. This experience has broadened our horizons and left us with unforgettable memories.
