Fr. Manoj passes on the baton to Fr. Sunil

On the 25th of March, Fr. Manoj handed over the charge to Fr. Sunil as the Socius to the Novice Director. At the Eucharist, a rose plant and a cutter was symbolically given to Fr. Sunil, to nurture and prune the novices.

Minor Orders of Lector & Acolyte conferred

The wait is over. Finally, the most awaited day for the fourteen first year novices arrived on the 24th of March as they received the Cassocks. "The Spotless Robe of Christ is mine" - Cassock Day was the day of putting on Christ for the novices. It was a wonderful experience for the 14 of them to walk on the way of consecrated life. Having internalized the significance of "Cassock", the first year novices received it with great love and devotion. Their heart-felt longing is fulfilled. During the Eucharistic celebration Fr Vijay Prabhu, the Provincial, conferred the Minor Orders of Lector and Acolyte to the first year novices. In the homily, Fr Vijay Prabhu invited the novices to proclaim the Word of God to the people and serve them. Really it was a time of grace for all the novices. They are full of zeal and are looking forward to proclaim Christ Jesus to the world. Indeed, a memorable day!

Fr. Sunil, the new Socius to the Novice Director

And the wait is over. The longing to have a new Socius is finally fulfilled. As the auto slowly came and parked in the portico, the Novices rejoiced to see Fr.Sunil getting down with two bags. He looked cheerful, bright and happy. Immediately he was taken to the room which was given a clean look by the novices. Though Fr.Sunil came from pastoral experience in Naganahalli and suffering from cold, he looked fresh all through. On the following day, the Novices gave a formal grand welcome to him. Sunil, touched by the love of the Novices said his new appointment made him both happy and reminded him of the great task of forming the young men. On the 25th of March he will formally take over as the Socius. All the best to you, dear Sunil.

Ashram Experience

"The deepest feeling always shows itself in silence" This has bee very true in the lives of 15 First Year Novices as they had a week-long Ashram Experience.
We really cherished our spiritual life in the Ashram. It was a time for us to know about Indian Spirituality. Our purpose of the Ashram Experiment was served very well, ie to renew ourselves in our spiritual life.
The fresh and calm nature helped us so much to experience God's presence in various forms. The different kinds of meditations conducted by Fr. Vineeth and Fr. Anto helped all of us to focus our attention on God alone.
The peaceful place, wonderful chapel, good breeze, beautiful surrounding, enjoyable sunset and of course pure vegetarian meals... all of these reminded us God's unconditional love and mercy. Now as we are back in the Novitiate, all of us feel spiritually invigorated. (By Avinash NSJ)
