KALA-KARANJI 2009-2010

“There are two ways of spreading the light of knowledge - to be the candle that spreads the light of knowledge or the mirror that reflects it.” The staff of Loyola Institutions wanted this time to spread the knowledge through a festival. Loyola Composite P.U. College proudly presented ‘Kala-Karanji 2009-10’ on the 21st and the 22nd of December 2009. The fest was a blend of events related to all the fields.

The success of the fest mostly depended on unity among the students and the lecturers too. We had bunches of events for the students participating from different houses. The participants emerged from 4 houses: Blue, Red, Yellow and Green. Each and every participant was a live wire. Various events that were held for the competitors were as follows: singing, dancing, mono acting, mimicry, essay writing, drawing, elocution, pick & speak and so many other events. These events attracted more crowds and aroused curiosity in every one. All the events were conducted with flair by all the event mangers. The grand success of the fest is dedicated to our beloved Principal, Fr Henry, and to the teacher Coordinators.

The fest was well planned and well executed. The fest management committee consisted of the staff coordinators from all three corners: Primary, High School & PUC. The committee tried to conduct the festival without flaws and with the intention to set a good example to the students for the next year. All the students took an active part in all the events and came out in flying colors. Fr Dion Vas and Fr Arock inaugurated the fest. Fr Dion addressed the students while Sri Mohan, the famous Kannada film actor, gave away the prizes. Fr William, our Rector, presided over the valedictory function and gave the Christmas message. The overall Championship was bagged by the Red house.

Home - A Treasure of Memories!

RUBEN: “Home brings childhood memories of my life.” I successfully finished my Home Experiment. My main goal was to discern my Vocation and to spend quality time with my parents & family members. My mother told me that her desire was to see me on the Altar celebrating Mass in the future. I was filled with joy and satisfaction during & after the home visit. My parents are very supportive and encourage me to reach my goal in life. Yes, I am very clear of my goal and my family is steadfast in its faith and support.

"My Inner-Journey with the Lord"

SHANTHRAJ: “Prayer takes me to the gate but I must enter it.” My Month's Retreat was a wonderful experience. This was the time where I met Jesus closely. A deeper knowledge about myself and my vocation were the two important aspects of my long retreat. During this experience, I have discovered that “Jesus is my close friend and He is everything.”

ROCKY: “In everything God does He has a purpose behind it.” I found that this statement has been a true experience of mine. In the retreat, I learned more about the Trinity, myself and God’s creation. They were the wonderful moments spent in a loving conversation with Jesus. I became conscious of God’s love flowing to me through various means. I have gained a lot from this retreat for my life.

PRAVEEN: “My life will be as it is unless I change it interiorly to be fully human and fully alive.” This is the core experience that I had during my long retreat. The Spiritual Exercises have played an important role in my life. “I took one step but God walked with me a mile in my life’s crucial time.” This saying was true in my life even today. Jesus, Mary, Joseph and the whole of Jerusalem was with me during my long retreat and the experience has transformed me. Life is no more the same as it was in the beginning. Over all, it is a journey from what I was to what I am.

As we said goodbye to 2009 and welcomed 2010, Novice Joyson composed a poem inviting us 'to be a light to one another' bearing witness to Christ
