Welcoming the Lord with Song - Carol Competition
A lively audience swayed their heads to the rhythm of Christmas music presented by ten groups during the carol competition held in the Immaculate Heart of Mary Parish, Kalena Agrahara. Music surely touches the heart. The event became an apt occasion to celebrate the joy of Christmas. The parish became a meeting point for the members of different parishes and the neighbours of different faiths gathered to drink in the spirit of Christmas. The Novices making a group of 26 members also took part in the competitions. The team from Basavanapura parish staked claim to the trophy. A cultural programme in the evening kept us entertained. The proud hosts, Fr John D’Souza and Deacon John Pradeep and the progamme committee looked into the nitty gritty of the event. The event was a wonderful occasion to spend time in the company of the Parish family.“Christ is the light to be lifted, the truth to be told, the peace to be promised, the love to be shared”

Christmas Cheer for the Little Ones!
No season gives the message of joy and sharing as profoundly as Christmas season. Our joy was doubled as our young parishioners rolled in a big number into our campus for a morning of games and entertainment in the second week of December. The new man on the job Deacon John Pradeep who is assisting Fr John D'Souza in the Parish ministry was the chief architect of the entire programme. Many parishioners, youth association members, sisters and brothers pooled in their assistance and carved out a successful event. It was a wonderful occasion to share the joy of Christmas with the young.“Let the little children come to me and do not stop them; for it is to such as these that the Kingdom of God belongs” Luke 18:16

Our Parish Feast at Kalena Agrahara, Bangalore.
Seeking the Blessings of our Heavenly Mother- Parish Feast Immaculate Heart of Mary Parish, Kalenagrahara: An atmosphere of celebration ruled in the parish as the parish family came together to celebrate the feast of the Immaculate Heart of Mary. Fr Stany D’Souza, the Rector of St Joseph’s Indian High School, was here to celebrate the Feast Day Mass. After the Holy Eucharist, the parish family shared their love for each other and gave witness to their oneness as they had food together in the Parish ground. As an expression of their faith and gratitude for all the gifts that they have received in the past year the parishioners brought out a car procession in the evening. Fr John D’Souza the new captain of the ship effectively handled the reins to carve out a memorable day for the parishioners.

'Christmas' in our Parish
On the Christmas evening, we had a cultural program in the Parish premises. Many Parishioners including the Religious were present. Carols, skits, mimes, dances etc were the main items which enthralled the audience. Our Novices put up a Fusion Dance highlighting Ecological Crisis, Human Rights and Fundamentalism. The program concluded as all joined in singing Carols.

Final Vows of Fr Francis Noronha
Our life as a religious is like a grind-stone and all that we must do is to allow it to polish us. Our life is a song and to sing it well, we need to listen to the melody or the inner voice of God. On 13 December, Fr Francis Noronha made his promises to the Lord through his Final Vows in the Society of Jesus. And all of us at Mount St Joseph and the Parish joined him in his song of praise.
St Ignatius puts the following criteria for men to be incorporated into the Society of Jesus.
(1) Men outstanding in following Christ Jesus (2) Men outstanding in virtue (3) Men who have sound judgement and prudence in action (4) Men who humbly accept corrections & strive to correct themselves (5) Men driven by love (6) Men who have complete availability, mobility for mission & ministries of the Society. Congratulations dear Fr Frankie!

Birthday of our Dear Mother Mary
The Feast day of the Nativity of the Blessed Virgin Mary, was celebrated with all grandeur today, at our Parish through a Konkani Mass celebrated by Fr Henry Saldanha. Flowers were offered at the Grotto in the Parish by the faithful. In preparation to the Feast, Novena was conducted in the community. We participated with ardent devotion to pay homage to Our Lady. We Novices made up the Choir with a few lay people. Blessed new-corn was distributed to every family at the end of the Mass. Fr Minister arranged a traditional meal for all of us in the afternoon. As a part of the Horizon activities, we had a Quiz conducted in the evening. Mary, Mother of God, is the mother of all generations. We can freely approach her for all that we need. She is not the end rather the beginning who leads us safe, just like a mother who leads her child by holding its little hands, to the eternal
We wish you all a Blessed Feast of the Nativity of Our Heavenly Mother.

New Presbytery at Mylasandra Parish
On 30 August, Rev Dr Bernard Moras, the Archbishop of Bangalore was the guest of honour at Holy Trinity Church, Mylasandra in order to inaugurate the Presbytery. He also administered the Sacrament of Confirmation to 89 children
in the Parish. Over a thousand people assembled to take part in the Eucharist and the short inaugural thereafter. Prior to this grace-filled day, Fr Mohan Joseph, the Parish Priest had meticulously arranged for confessions for these children and their parents. Fathers from the MSJ community accompanied by the 2nd year Novices were also present at this programme.
